“This vibrant, sappy and delicious wine is another example of why Sauvignon Blanc seems to be a missed opportunity in Oregon. It offers flavors of lime, grapefruit, apple and melon, with a lightly buttery mouthfeel that’s buttressed by juicy acidity.” ~Paul Gregutt 4/1/2019

2013 ANTIQUUM VineyarD PINOT NOIR

The fifteen acre Antiquum Vineyard is located in the southern part of the Willamette Valley.  The vines are planted at 800’ elevation on sedimentary Bellpine soils, which are well draining silty clay loam over a sandstone base that is the remnant of an ancient seafloor.  The vineyard is dry farmed, and managed organically and sustainably utilizing draft horses and babydoll sheep.

Hand harvested on September 27th from select rows of clones 113, 115, 667 and Wädenswil.  Fermented in small lots retaining 30% whole clusters, pigéage à pied twice daily, natural primary and secondary fermentation, basket pressed after 21 days on skins, and 11 months élevage.

2018 La Chenaie Vineyard Sauvignon Blanc

With very little planted in the valley and 2017 our first production, we felt extremely lucky to be able to source slightly more Sauvignon Blanc in 2018 from Bill Holloran’s La Chenaie Vineyard in the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. A field blend of five different clones and fermented in neutral French oak for 7 months with just a touch of stainless steel.

It presents classic Sauvignon Blanc characters of Meyer lemon, gooseberry and white peach with hints of cut grass and bell pepper notes. Framed with vibrant acidity and balanced with a lick of salty sweetness.
